lawn ornaments

We're off to the ranch

where the cows and the lawn turkeys roam.

The fluff ball between the two big girls is a wee goblet
eyeballing some yummo grub in the grass.

What interests me the most is there is only one polt. Must be more out of view.

Have fun on your vacation, Sam!

The lone polt is unusual. There's usually a whole chorus line; I've counted 16 before. It's rare to see 2 adult hens together at this time of year. The leader is larger, more dominant and appears to be the mom. This is a very strange family group, with no one else in sight. I suspect the hawks and/or coyotes have had a fat spring.

Thanks, it's always good to be there, but this is a working weekend; lots of chores to do. There's been tons of rain so it's lush and green this year. Makes for dense trees and lots of mosquitos. I'll take pics if those B52 buzzmos don't carry me off with the camera.

I'm having a very odd day, I keep reading that as 'giblets'.

Lawn Turkeys! Hee! Nice! (Until it's Christmas or Thanksgiving, presumably).

It's like you guys have peacocks roaming your lawn up there in Neverneverranch.
"goblet"--haha

Well, there actually are peacocks. But they stay on the other side of the river, so we only hear them. They holler pretty loudly, which makes for a kinda weird jungly soundtrack. Okay, so the place is, um, unusual.
