impatience

Have you been impatient,
waiting for me to finally finish
 and post another painting?
I know I have.

But, damn, he's so cute!
Wasn't he worth waiting for?

just say no

When you leave a comment on this post
(which you now can do without difficulty),
you will see my freedom screed.

Like all great rebellions, this one was instigated by
a suggestion which rang too true to be ignored.

elvis

If you come into my back hall,
you'll see that you got here too late.

Actually, this retablo was the last gift
from my friend Rose before she died.
What an exit!

cello

Nancy Colella's new puppy is yellow.

So of course, her name's Limoncello.
It's a cute name for a dog,
 More Italian than nog,
And for short, they can just call her Cello.

painted rocks

I've been known to paint rocks.
Not paintings of rocks.
Rocks.

almost home

Tomorrow is Monday,
and it'll be time to get back for real.
But here's a couple of parting shots
of the unreal that is Hawaii.

hot n cold

Climate shock.
When we left Honolulu yesterday,
 Hawaii was, well, Hawaii.
Beautiful, benign and balmy.

By the time the plane landed,
Denver was buried by the biggest February snow in history.

First you play, and then you pay.
Mother Nature is a twisted sister.

beach biscuits

Hawaii is a place where women are lovely and loved. Wahines' impossibly firm and perky bums are affectionately called beach biscuits. Cheerfully emblazoned beach towels offer protection and comfort and men proudly proclaim their undying respect. It's another planet.

We fly home tomorrow night. When I went to the point for one more sunset tonight, I was reminded that there are lovely dogs waiting for us there. I found a tennis ball floating in the surf and will take it home for them.

P.S. Just heard it'll be snowing. Yikes.
