dawn at the ditch

If I ever had a subtle bone in my body,
I obviously broke it, too.

It's the intensity...what it's about. Love that, and you still have depth - brill. Way to go, Sam!

it's so beautiful!! The composition, the light, the way my eye follows through it.

This is an elixir to my senses – it’s great – I love the sweep of the composition and the color, I could plunge into that heady blue right this instant!

Profoundly beautiful. You don't need subtle bones--you've got expressive ones!

Ooooh....I love this! Great colors and drama here.

Casey--It's reassuring to know The Godfather approves. :o)

Karen--It's a cheap ticket, so I'm very glad you enjoyed the ride.

Marcia--Thanks for appreciating the colors. But before jumping in, you should know it's an irrigation ditch, so the water is icy snowmelt.

Melinda--Good to hear you like my loud bones.

Sonya--Drama queens are never subtle, but they still like approval. Thanks!

I THINK IT'S VERY SUBTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you hear me now? It is subtle in a SAMARTDOG kind of way. I think it's a beauty. Nice transition from front to back
and I always love the colors you use. Don't try to be something you aren't. Not sure what I would do if I saw you do something subtle. I would know you were sick and off your feed. Just stay the same as you are. K?????????????????

"Don't try to be something you aren't." For sure, a mantra to live by. Don't ever want to be sick and off my feed. Har har.

Hope you're well and smiling.

moody---in a very good way. I want to follow that ditch to see where it winds up

Celeste--
You're right, and it's actually moodier that it appears here. Darker and a bit more muted. Sometimes, my camera can be a little too cheerful. In any case, I'm glad you like it. Your current workshop stuff is so great to see!

Great!! I love the way you shifted the light on the water as it moves back. Pretty nice for a ditch!! Well done!

Beautifully dramatic Sam. Those colours are exotic! Is it pastel? I loved your photos above as well. Fascinated by the sea story.

Back home from Paris, Sheila? Yes, this is pastel; glad you like it.

What a stunningly beautiful painting. Clearly nature wasn't being subtle that morning. Glad you weren't either.
