Day's is a lobster/clam shack along Route 1 in Maine.
My husband lives on their lobster rolls when we're back there.
While he ordered his umpteenth,
I slipped out back and took some pictures.
I did this pastel when we got back.
Dissatisfied, I put it aside a few months ago.
Thought I'd go back to it, but that can drive you crazy.
Better I should shoot it and let it go.
There are more pictures,
and there sure are more lobster rolls.

This is a beautiful painting! I hope you didn't mean THIS one was not up to par!
I know Day's. In fact, a Day daughter was in my class in high school. The marsh/tidal flats out behind their store is great fodder for paintings! I like that you know the places I know!
This is a beauty Sam. Exciting shapes in a peaceful setting.
Sam, Looks good to me. Actually looks great. Looks can be deceiving to the artist.

You better jump up and down and shout hurrah - it's great you silly girl!
Shelley--
Of course you know Day's. What fun! So you also know the scent of eau-de-flats. We call that "flavah".
Loriann--
Exciting and peaceful. That about runs the gamut. We aim to please!
May I add my aye to this? Aye - it is very good. I imagine you going back to this theme in some future time in the studio and also doing another and another.
Bob--
Self-criticism is harsh. On the other hand, compliments from pros give comfort. Thanks!
Marcia--
Okay, I tried it; hollering "hurrah" only feels a little silly.
The ayes have it, Casey. As I said, there are more pictures. Like the Goobernator would say, I'll be back!
I have to say that I like the way this piece is so controlled and quiet. The diagonals add energy that the quiet scene denies.
Great painting Sam!
It has a definite Andrew Wyeth feel, whom
I admire.
A striking piece!
How's the healing going? This is a shoulder right?
Now for pete's sake, don't fall and hurt the other one.
When you're out walking, wrap yourself in a mattress although I'm not sure what the benefit will be .... fresh air for your head and feet?
These last two paintings are awesome!

Kvan--
I thought the control blocked. But you're right about the diagonals; they break through. There's always something to be found, even from what seemed lost.
HAY-AY-AY, DD!
Wow, is it ever great to hear from you! I've missed you! Don't disappear like that again, y'hear?
In spite of myself, I'm doing fine, although my over-worked guardian angel has about had it with me. But I guess angels can't quit. That means you can't either.
Stay tuned!
Looks as good as I remember it. A beauty.
I'll add an "aye."
I like it.
