chocolates

It took a lot of chocolate to paint this.
Photographing it drove me nuts.
Personally, I don't like chocolate and nuts,
so I figured I better just close the box.

Yummy! This painting looks like it even smells good. Have your dogs ever gotten into chocolate? Tempted? My friend's chihuahua, Cosmo, LOVES chocolate and whenever it's around and within reach, he eats it. Always with very unhappy (though never life-threatening) results. So far. This box would kill him!

I don't normally like chocolate paintings (I mean paintings of chocolates) but somehow this has some integrity. It isn't pretending to be the chocolates themselves. It remains a "painting of chocolates". I like how I can see the weave of the canvas too. A whole horizontal series of these paintings on a wall would look intriguing.

This is very cool! I like how you've rendered it as almost an abstract image: it's clear that these are chocolates, but there's no other context (box, plate, etc.), so it's all about their shapes and textures.

I have never been happy with photos I've taken of paintings on canvas, so I understand your frustration there.

A dozen pieces of chocolate--beautiful. I saw this late last night, then went into the kitchen and had some dark (healthy) chocoate with nuts. Thanks.
