did I forget to say I liked the painting? Love the reflection in the mirror. I believe Chrissie just shot a photo into her side mirror of Tugboat, head out the back window, boat trailing behind, ears flapping.
Nice depiction of the canine spirit in this painting. And I marvel at how truly patient dogs are, as they wait for their silly human to finish whatever unimportant tasks are at hand preventing attention being paid to said dog.
Well-put, Sonia. Dogs are unabashedly self-centered, something which actually benefits everything around them. The perfect plan working perfectly. Arf.
I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog. You get us! And you're able translate that understanding to your drawing and painting. I aspire to capture my friends on paper as joyously and lovingly as you do. Were you a dog in another life? You are truly a dogsend.
I am Sam Hannaway, and I share this blog with the dogs in my life. Being creative soothes my soul, so I write when I have something to say, paint when words don't cut it and try to follow the dogs' advice with grace. They say to keep it simple.

So true and really....dogs are just way better than people. Did I say that?

Seriously true. There's that word again.
This is just brilliant--the epitome of patience. Love the painting, especially the dog knows in the mirror.

Goldens are so sweet! Just waiting, yep, just waiting and ooh, whose nose is that? oh, waiting, when will she get back?
So expressive that face -- speaks of longing for HER. Totally great!
Nice! I wish my dog liked the car as much as this one seems to.
Woof.
VERY NICE...
touches the heart
What a cutie. I want to kiss that velvety muzzle.
About halfway through, I started thinking about him as St. Jazzy
