easy listening

I've included this picture
I took in my swell garden yesterday
to make sure you read this post.
I'm nothing if not shameless.

Read on...

Call me a throwback, but I'm proud to not have a Face... book, that is. Frankly, stupid old blogging still amazes me enough to elicit loyalty. Besides, I'd rather continue to work on achieving hubris in a few things other than being a technoweenie (that's not a hard and fast rule, by the way; whenever it suits my purpose, I've been known to expand my consciousness...).

Back to blogdom and all the amazing things it is. This morning, Nancy Colella mentioned Blog Talk Radio, more specifically the show "Artists Helping Artists". Good to listen to while you paint. Or whatever it is you do. As a matter of fact, there's probably a show about whatever that is, too. Way back in the Stone Age '90s, we started Gogaga, one of the first Internet radio stations, so blog radio is like a grandchild; it tickles me to death. Anyway, I just heard a good interview with Karin Jurick.
Internet radio lives.

Ahhh. Easy listening.

I have to admit, I am on Facebook. Where else can I embarrass myself in front of hundreds of my "friends" who couldn't pick me out of a line-up?

Oh, I suppose I'll get over it and join the, what, 10 and a half million new friends who signed up in the last 3 minutes.

Keep saying I'll Face-up -- but I never do, and probably won't.

Like your garden!

Ah, Facebook...I have a studio page that I use for the "post-it notes" version of my work for people who don't read blogs (and more importantly, people who buy my artwork), so for me it has been a great marketing tool. I have no use for it whatsoever on a personal level. So, you aren't missing a damn thing...well, aside from discovering how it has the power to transform people into humorless, uninteresting narcissists.

The blogosphere, however, continues to rule, by virtue of its wide, useful and interesting content and blogging peeps who create it. Dreama's blog radio program is the shiznit, isn't it? I listened to one of Carol Marine's interviews a couple of months ago. Awesome resource.

Happy gardening!

How did I miss "Blog Talk Radio"? Thanks for giving it some press time and introducing it!

Facebook is a mixed bag, that's for sure. I get to see photos of my friends' Italy adventure every day as they post them on FB. That's kind of cool. But, sometimes I learn something about someone that is definitely TOO MUCH INFORMATION for the depth of our relationship. Yay, your colonoscopy is clear, but did I really need to know that?!

I network my blog on my FB page and that's brought more readers (like Sonya said, non-blog readers sometimes read on FB).

Beautiful garden photo, Sam! Wonderful color.

I am one of those who has (now) over 2,000 friends on facebook. There are zillions of artists on facebook and for some reason zillions of them thought it was a good idea to "connect" (LOL). Well, not too long ago Jimmy Kimmel did this campaign where he recommended you unfriend people you don't actually know on facebook. I thought what an excellent idea and I set about unfriending. I unfriended for about 3 hours and hardly made a dent. Then I posted a status that read: Sorry Jimmy Kimmel, this is too time consuming.

I think FB is one of those things one should be careful about wishing for. I tend to be suspicious of anything which becomes too trendoid. I'd like to think I'm just a good unfriend. A totally refreshing uncola.

Yes BlogTalk radio is very cool.
I do FB but I do it reluctantly. So High School. Just my opinion.
