hue and cry

Is there such a thing as color constipation?
Value vapor-lock?
Pigmentation saturation?
Chroma chelation?
Tone deafness?

Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes.

The other pastel sticks lurking in this studio
(and they are... rolling around with the dust devils
under the furniture,
stashed in cigar boxes, even lost in my drawers),
sticks which didn’t make the cut
into the box in this round,
well, it’s too damn bad.  I’ve hit my limit.

At this point, I am hueless and clueless.
Can’t see the forest greens for the tree greens.
Can’t see the sea blues.
I still have neutrals and grays to do,
but they’re merely ghosts.
I need more boxes, but the thought makes me sweat.
It's all getting blurry...

Hard to believe, but this color junkie
has finally overdosed.
Which is not to say I won’t be back for another hit.
Because... sigh... that’s the nature of the beast.

Holy color-wheel Bat Woman!
If I had that many colors of watercolors
I would spend all my time trying to decide
which ones to use.

They are beautiful in all their radiant hue's.
More boxes, hell yah! Keep lots of paper on
hand and pastel your heart out.

And how, pray tell, do you close that box?

I'm waiting for the pastels to meet the paper.

Verification word: stoned

Already have one (some) going. Had to dive in or spend all of my time drooling over the candy box.

Hallie===.
Both sides have a foam cover to keep them all in their seats.

Amen.

Wow~ That is the biggest pastel box I have ever seen! And, it looks like there's memory foam in it, too. When it's all covered and locked shut, is it a reasonable size for travel and plein air?

And, my, my, my, what beautiful colors you have in your box, my dear!

man o manoshevitz...that is a lot of pastel---it is a work of art in and of itself! Can't wait to see what you will do... (Kitty would have to choose only 12 and match values from a b&w photo). It is sensory overload...but wow is it ever fantastic!

Awesomeness, Sam. Keep at it!

I know you're agin making your own boxes, but I made several to store my overstock of sticks. They work good and don;t need to be perfect.

Looks like you still have the mother-lode of Unis to put away. Too much fun.

Dakota's new boxes. Large one is 18 x 12 and small is 12 x 12. I'm not taking this one off of the table, but I could. The small one would be nifty for the road.

Celeste---
Kitty's chosen 12 is enviable but would take her considerable judgement. On a good day I use 20. Okay, 25.

Casey---
Did you say, too much fun? Bingo. I feel like Nero, fiddling while time burns.
