alexander's garden

Art is everywhere.
It appears wherever someone stakes a claim.
Here in our neighborhood,
a seven-year-old kid named Alexander works his magic
on the street corner in front of his house.

He's carefully laid out an extensive collection of treasures
right there on the sidewalk for all the world to enjoy.

For instance, right there below the fossilized ammonite
is one of the finest arrowheads I've ever seen.

And now, here's what I consider to be
Alexander's absolute tour de force...

But wait...
If that weren't enough,
he has an installation directly across the street.
Yes, that's a dollar affixed with Bondo.
I call it the $1 hydrant.
Garrett doesn't know what he thinks of it.

I suppose that for a dog, it's kind of like
Duchamp's urinal.

Sam, I think the dog is wondering about the dollar bill.

Poor Garrett. That's a bit like the days when it cost a dime to use a stall in the ladies room.

I hope Alexander has read up on Feng Sui so he knows that arrow shouldn't point towards his house. He has a nice collection.

Ha! I love the Duchamp reference. And Alexander is a boy genius.

Bob--
He probably thinks a dollar doesn't get you very far these days.

Hallie--
It's not even enough to piss on.

Andrea--
Glad you dropped by. Btw, I left a Hershey's kiss for Alexander.

Celeste--
Well, he is only seven, but I think he's got better taste than some men I know.

Ha ha! Duchamp's urinal! :D
This kid is super talented and it would be a shame if he did not in fact end up dedicating himself to installation art. What block is he on?

5th & Alpine, but like the rest of us, it's buried in snow. Worse, city crews are about to replace the sidewalk.
