I love seeing your older pieces! So strong and beautiful. Wish I could peek in and see what's going on with the well-organized pastels...
Well, I do try to straighten out the box and clean a few sticks whenever I finish a piece, but they are getting filthy. It's looking like the devil's workshop.

I've read that you can clean your pastels by shaking (?) in dry uncooked rice. Um, gently, I presume.

Rice flour is a gentler cleaner and an okay way to transport sticks, too.
Far better to have dirty pastels that are being used to create, than to have clean pastels that are merely decorative!! Having devilish fun in the studio, eh?

I wipe the sticks with a tissue to clean em.
Did you know that when an artist takes up pastels, that an angel gets her wings? And, somewhere, a little bell is ringing.
I love this painting. It's looks like she only has a minute to pose--that she has places to go and things to do.

This style of yours was so interesting. I think you should put these for sale, you'll make some bucks and can get a new set of pastels. ;)
