endless

Back to the east pasture.
I find this place to be endlessly
fascinating?...
beautiful?...
endless?...

This picture keeps catching my eye.
Props to my iPhone camera;
It continues to amaze me.

I am sure that it is the person behind the iPhone camera that should get the accolades! I love the patterns of the tracks. Who was there? What did he do? Like a Wyeth painting!

it's like a dream

That's my husband trying to A) not freeze solid as a post while trying to B) look through frozen tears into that white-hot glare. The severe cold made everything feel like arctic deprivation.
Casey, the cold clear air made things appear closer than they were. That huge cottonwood tree is over1/3 mile away.
Celeste, you're right; it looks like a dream. Felt like one, too.
That talented little camera's stabilizer steadied my shivering so I could accurately take the shot of the unreal.

Very cool.
And I'm jealous you have a better iPhone than me.

I should add that we call that "the Eagle Tree". A nesting pair lives there. A prairie dog colony at its feet and Rabbit Mountain rising just to the west make for some fine dining.

An amazing photo--I love the lonely tree and all the tracks.

An amazing Colorado vista! I can feel the cold, too. Happy New Year, Sam!
