After forty-four years here,
my oldest best Boulder friend up and left town.
Put her dog and her cat and her fish into her car
and moved to Apalachicola,
of all places.
The fish were so thrilled,
it took one of em just a couple of days
to launch itself up out of the bowl
and onto the floor.
I used Caran d'Ache pencils
to memorialize the poor little tyke.

oh no! Sorry you are losing your friend to Florida! (I know Apalachisomething is in Florida cause I went to The Google to look it up.)
I do like the colors in your kinda sad drawing. Was the goldfish saved? Or did it pine for the fjords? (That's a Monty Python joke.)
Yeah, those Caran d'Ache colors are amazing.
Didn't intend for it to be sad. So much for intentions. I'd think my friend had made the biggest mistake of her life, if she weren't so damn happy about it, and that makes it more than good enough for me.
By the way, the fish survived, Monty.
Funny you should call it "The Google", like another funny friend always called it "The Goodwill". Both of you, clearly temple worshipers.
Truth be known, I'm a fish out of water without my friend.
Aw - bless Monty the survivor. I like animal survival stories. Poor you to lose a close friend though. Maybe she went for the sun - don't you get a lot of cold winters in Boulder?
