doggone

Going away,
Gracey's ears
looked
just like this.

What a girl.

I still miss her.

Once I clicked on it I understood. It's funny, my monitor the dog appears brown. But when I click Gracie shows her beautiful color. Nice. Where did Gracie go?

You're right; she does look brown. Good; she was a pretty chocolate lab with a very colorful personality. Also, her life was every shade, from horrible to glorious. Happily, in that order.
She died 3 years ago from a fast-moving bone cancer, which she did with grace, like everything else. I credit her with getting my sorry butt to our humane society soon enough to find Garrett The Great. Like I said, what a girl.

Jala, I think you're very kind. It's also possble that you have strep brain.

Nope, not delusional, and not a wombat. It's just an awesome painting. It feels so full of emotion--even if I hadn't know the pooch myself. Partly because she is departing...

word verif.: hedablec. No, head o'strep.

You've accomplished something so difficult that many can't pull it off--create a moving eulogy in paint without any hint of saccharine.

It is really moving.

I had a dog go through bone cancer, too, and when he died, it was devastating. Our 'new' knucko'head saved me from total despair.

Really well done.

I'm glad to hear this painting moves you all. Me, too, but the good news is that, just like Gracey, her sad story somehow feels good in the end.
