burning woman

The fire's still burning, the wind's still blowing
and I'm still painting.

Like a crazy woman.

Loriann--
You're nice to say so. I'm pretty sure half as much would be twice as good. Hey, it gave me something to do.

Excellent work here! Enchanting and inviting. How I wish the fire danger were over.

You're not crazy. You are working to heal, to ward off panic, to be whole. That's a great thing.

I've been reading and viewing Boulder area news about the fire and am eager to learn that it's over.

Best wishes from here!

Beautiful and moody. Here's hoping that you don't have to evacuate! Stay safe.

That`s such a beautiful painting Sam!
I`m sorry your world is burning.

Thanks Katherine and Randall! The firefighters and the slurry bombers and waterdropping choppers have the fire on the run, and some evacuees can go home. If there is one. Happily, the air is clear and the sky is bloo again. Yay!

this has a beautiful quality--very hard to describe. Mysterious but warm.

You've led us into the dark and back into the light with this beautiful painting. The smoke clears but you continue to be smokin hot.

I'll have a double portion of fruit CAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nervous critters all of us- you, Jala and the Four Mile inhabitants, and us, here watching the Atlantic Basin fill with swirling red vortexes.
Mother Nature is always up at bat last.
I'm tremendously relieved for you that those fires are gone.
I can't imagine the concentration it took to keep painting ( and so darn well too ) while this intensity roared around you. I'd have been packed, and stuffed with Xanax.

HI SAM,
I like your work, your color. and this one with the smoke is luscious and foreboding. I hope the fire threat is over.

Kitty--
You gotta know that encouragement from you goes a long long way, so thanx a lot! The fires backed off, I've made it here to Maine, and my own friendly fire is stoked to get home to Boulder and back into the studio next week. Woo-hoo!
