hard to imagine

The sun was this hot.

The shade was this cool.

Remember?
It was called summer.

Just to be back for a day or so would do me good!

Gosh, I'd like to see summer -- we never had one this year at the beach...

I heard rumors of sun and heat during the summer, but I just saw clouds and cool temperatures. On July 15 I wore my sandals, just because IT WAS JULY, but we were in front of the glaciers and it was freaking cold -- 28 degrees by the boat's thermometer.

But, like a fairytale land, I can believe in summer where the sun shines hot on the land and colors the dirt yellow and dips the shadows into violet.

Some miss it, some missed it and some wish they had. If I were empress, the days would be warm and the nights would be as cool as a glacier.

i love the temps but I sometimes think that autumn and winter are more compelling to paint. what do you think?

Sam, I love this photograph! - it does make me nostalgic for endless summer days but then I'm reaching a stage where the mere thought of winter chills me, makes me glum somewhat.

Summer, I get a lot of that. Fall, we have none. But I love the blue shadow on this road. So inviting.

Hey, Arty Fice! Good to know you're lurking out there. Though I didn't steal it, I agree that cool blue is quite appealing.
