thanks be to dog

Mountain Lion© photographer Brenda Colwell, brendac@artisticsystems.net. Permission granted for CDOW use only.

I'm thankful me and the dog did NOT go for a walk yesterday morning because there was a stoned mountain lion staggering up the alley where we walk. The po-leese and the DOW screwed up another bait n switch and had to dart him twice.

As always, I'm thankful I get to go get poked by my acuprincess and that she lets my dog come with me. I'm thankful for the GP/OB/GYN she recommended to me. Dr. OneSwellFoop.

I'm very thankful they both have a decent sense of humor.

You have great timing -- to avoid mountain lion encounters! It's a wild life over there in Colorado!

Christmas eve! You go walk the dog and meet a mountain lion. I realise I live in Tame-land. On the subject of dogs my daughter's hamster has escaped again (people keep forgetting they have let him out for a run round) so Ash the dog is mournfully lying outside the open cage waiting for his (Warren's) return. They are buddies but Ash likes Warren more than Warren likes Ash evidently.

The lion looked like he had badly lost a big fight, so they took him away to Ft. Collins. Maybe to the University of Northern Colorado with its world-renowned veterinary school. Perhaps that's what they do with reparably injured wildlife. Poor lion.

It's tough to be wild these days.

P.S. It's also tough to be a hamster.

Yikes! Good thing you weren't oustside when the mountain lion was out and about! See another reason why owtside begins with "ow"!
