I should take my Pollock app paintings more seriously
and give them the respect they deserve.
Like most art, some take hard work,
and some are pure serendipity.
Some of them stink and get deleted,
but I think some of them are quite good.
I should give those some air.
Speaking of which, these were done at Gate 42.
I did this next one recently before dawn.
I immediately recognized that it must be for Loriann.

Thank you Sam!!!!! How awesome!I have never had an app painting done for me...I am honored.
PS what do you do with your app paintings...do they get printed?..do you use them as thumbnails?
I am mystified about how sometimes creating is hard and sometimes easy. What is that about? haha...I love all three of these (esp # 3) and they all deserve respect. Print them!
These are so cool (those electric purples - yeah!). My favorite is the third one. I don't have an iPhone, but an iPad is on my List of Cool Things To Buy, and I think I would definitely have to have this app after seeing these and your earlier ones.
I'm with Celeste about wondering about the hard vs. easy moments in creating art.
Loriann--
I think the splotches on these Pollock apps are too unique to use the paintings as thumbnails. They're a whole different animal. I do print them, though. Printing them on photo paper is the best, but even on plain paper, getting them into my hand often shows things I didn't see on-screen.

Creation is a wild thing.

You'll love this... the purples have their own palette, called "magic".
Aging eyeballs will get me to upgrade to the iPad. The iPhone's giving me squint-wrinkles.
You are a seriously good painter! IPhone, IPad, brush and canvas, whatever -- I love all your artwork!
What ... these are incredible Sam!
This batch is really great together.
I like the title ... Gate 42
You never know where your best inspirations
and creations are going to come from.
AWESOME STUFF!
Hi Sam, I like those very, very much!!! They're very appealing in every aspect. (composition, choice of colors.)
Shelley--
Thanks for the compliments. I'm impressed by all your beach photographs. I think it's a serious stretch to call yourself an amateur.
DD--
I'm glad you like these. Soak in Sonoma!

Well, there you are! Thanks for your kind words.
I know it was hard to turn your blog over to Marc for redesigning. The good news is, he did a wonderful job. Though I'd like to think your old blog was teaching me a little German, I know I'm much better off with English. I truly admire all of your work, but now I can easily see that I love the "Unter Segein" series the most. They're almost abstract, very strong and very beautiful.
Congratulations on your blog's new look, and welcome back!
These definitely deserve air--and frames.
Fun.
I like the first one best.
Thanks, Jala. I do too.
Beautiful
work
good creations
I like them all, but favor the first one. I like the sense of moonrise. It's amazing that you can get such detail and gestural quality with an app for your iPhone. Your creativity knows no bounds.
