gold coast

No matter what I think I'm doing,

things rarely end up looking anything like what I expected.

This painting was a total surprise.

Sheila Vaughan said...: I think the ones that are a surprise to us are the ones in which we have allowed our intuition to play with us. A lot of the time the 'painterly editor' sits on our shoulder saying - what, that colour! why that weird shape? auntie margaret won't like that... and so on. And we are so used to doing as we are told we listen to her.
