Now here's a dog who's ready for action. Or a walk. Or a group of anything that needs herding. What are you doing sitting there? There's stuff to do! Didn't you say there was a new dog park to visit?! Love the energy of the drawing -- what a joy!
Nora, How can you avoid a dog tongue? They're always hanging out like a window shade. Had to keep pulling this one down further than I thought possible. That's why it's so dark in there.
I am Sam Hannaway, and I share this blog with the dogs in my life. Being creative soothes my soul, so I write when I have something to say, paint when words don't cut it and try to follow the dogs' advice with grace. They say to keep it simple.

I wish mine smiled like yours. My dog Champ always looks like he's a sulky teen-ager. I guess at 3ys old, he is.
You captured it darlin'...Ella and I love it!!
Champ and Ella, both being Labs, insist on getting things their own way.
Oxytocin--I looked it up (and I'm smiling). The good mood is contagious--wonderful drawing.

Beautiful dog...and a great expression too. That dog is peppy! Very well done, your love of animals shines through.
Cute! I always avoid drawing dog's tongues... because they're so tough to do but you did a great job here.
