yearlings

Although it seems like it,
it didn't take me nearly as long to paint this
as it took these little doggies
to become yearlings.

I'm amazed any of you have the patience
to check in on us now and then.
When was the last time I thanked you?
Well, thank you!

Oh my. Me like. This has an amazing abstract composition and is just plain yummy (and I'm not talking roast beef). Wanna trade?

I don't speak "art-ese" so I can't explain. Sometimes a painting--like this one--touches my soul. Wonderful.

I like the shapes in this painting and the abstract quality they and the color evoke. Very nice!

Love the chunkiness and the palette Sam.

A lovely painting! There was a painter in Maine (D.D. Coombs) who included cows in almost every one of his paintings. I'll never forget his quote: "So many cows, so little time..."

Nice composition! I like how you kept it simplified. Eye catching.

Interesting that the composition of this was so oft-mentioned. I spent a whole day doing sketches of the other cow I thought belonged in there. I just couldn't make him fit. Sketching is a good thing.

Thank you all again. I don't care how many kudos anyone gets for whatever; compliments are what make us keep going.

Wow - this is a new direction for you? Or have I been "missing" so long that I'm backing up...

Really like it.
