I know it's corny,
but he says his name is
Seymour.
He popped out of the depths
of this last underpainting.
I'm hoping he's right.

of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically
dogs think humans are nuts."

Are you sure he's not saying "See More?" In the next town, there's a Seymour Avenue; on it is the See More Carwash--makes me smile. I like the painting and I'm glad you're back.
Hi Hallie,
Good to hear from you! Glad you got the joke, sick as it is. Actually, there's getting to be nothing funny about not being able to see a whole month after surgery. Just scary. So much for getting hung up on the details.
Oh dear...I am sorry to learn that you can't see well after your surgery. It is a very charming painting. I love that it is a dog... dogs make us smile!
Thanks Celeste. When the dog showed up, I was surprised and said out loud, "Well, just look at you! I wonder who you are." People who know me would never be surprised.
See more Seymour. I'm not surprised a dog popped out from the depths of your painting.
And now I can't stop singing "Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors. It's stuck in my head.
