I love these little guys. I'm always surprised by their early flowers in the spring, having forgotten they were there last year. The first honeybee (front left flower) is also thrilled to see them. I especially love them because they fall in to the category of "volunteers"; wherever one of their wee bulbs falls, it plants itself and then multiplies into a whole cheerful clump.

Yes, Doug, I know. That's Canadian thistle, a not-so-welcome volunteer. They also come back every spring.
Spring is here! Volunteers and native flowering plants always get a thumbs up from me! Nice photo!
Grape hyacinth! I'm glad you posted such a good picture of yours, since I can't see mine. The piney shrubs took them over.

Most of my garden perennials are natives, like penstemons, centranthus, armeria, poppies, columbine, and bindweed. When the bindweed finally takes over (it will), I'm moving.

I love 'em too. They have populated themselves all along our walkway in front.
They smell good, too. But you have to get waaaaay down loooooow to smell one (without picking it, of course).
