caballo blanco

Update:

First I painted and posted this, then the news came out.

I thought I should change the title.

 Boulder ultra-runner Micah True,
a.k.a. Caballo Blanco,
 was last seen on Tuesday
at the Gila Wilderness Lodge in Gila, New Mexico.
The best-selling book, "Born to Run", recounts
Micah's time running the Copper Canyon in Mexico
with the Tarahumara Indians.
Four days later, there still is no sign of him.
The search continues.

frank

Remember when I said,
"Frankly, I'd rather be painting."?

Meet Frank.

For now, I'm painting.
Ommmmm.

frustration

I need help.

All of the "paintings" I've done on my iPhone
using my Pollock app are stored on iPhoto on my Mac.
For that matter, so are all of my photos.
Many of them are already put together as slideshows.
I'd like to upload download overload those slideshows,
preferably onto the sidebar of my blog.
I know it must be at least as simple as I am.
I am not technologically gifted.
Hell, I'm not even technologically interested.
But I do loves my blog, your blog, all of our arty blogs.
If any of you can email assistance, boy do I need some.
I am lost in space.

Frankly, I'd rather be painting.

fair trade

Never miss the chance to make the virtual real.
Crossing over from cyberspace to face-to-face
can be extraordinary.
Last weekend, Katherine Van Schoonhoven and I
did just that. We met near Boulder,
shared a good meal in a restaurant with our husbands,
and continued a conversation we had already carried on
for three years on our blogs.
It was like meeting an old friend for the first time.

Katherine generously surprised me with a sketchbook,
like those she fills with the wonderful drawings
you can see on her blog.
As icing on the cake, she also included three cool pens.

I had also gotten her a little gift,
a fair-trade organic Chocolove
73% cocoa chocolate bar with currants & almonds.
Yum!

Sadly, I ate it before she ever got here.

My apologies, Katherine.

Hey, I got you some virtual daffodils.

best old friend

A friend emailed an excellent batch of dog pictures.
This one looks exactly like my old first best dog.
We traveled everywhere together.
He balanced stuff on his head, too.

Sorry to all my other dogs, but Al set a high standard.
He still makes us all try harder.

road trip

Seriously...

Who doesn't like a road trip?

twister

When the wind blows downslope here,
it blows so hard it can twist the sunset.

This same angry wind turned into
the tornados that recently killed so many people
1000 miles east of here on Leap Day.

Scary.

a dog's rainbow

Casey Klahn has posted an interesting pastel on The Colorist,
called "Dog, detail #1". We couldn't pass up the opportunity.

According to Psychology Today, Jay Neitz at the University of California, Santa Barbara, tested the color vision of dogs and came up with a nice chart.

We have a question...

What's psychology?

sleep-painting

Sometimes when I'm falling asleep I get the urge to paint
and wish I could quickly slap up some color.
That's when I'm likely to grab my iPhone and
 tap on the Pollock app.
Last night, I fell asleep twice while trying to
 polish off an apple.

I found this on my phone this morning.
