The moon is a womb And a moldy sigh Soured in wine And three days high. But……..there may be tripods in heaven – the pyramid in nature, stability – one guesses...one can't help but...
Kvan- Cat Stevens wrote "Moonshadow" about his dog. His first hit song (at age 18) was called, "I Love My Dog. And that's why my dog Garrett loves Cat Stevens, even if his name is Cat.
Melinda- Do you see the violet and green Celtic/Hopi Cross around the moon?
Marcia- I'll embarrass myself and ask, who wrote that?
Moi-même - some doggerel during my pre-hippy days living in Montreal when I was young and innocent. Another association that came to mind when l looked at your fabulous moon image, was from a Dutch film, Antonia’s Line and I recall a character Mad Madonna, constantly howling at the moon.
We're thinking alike... I SAW that moon the other night too...and thought I might try taking a picture...and then gave up on that idea. Glad you took a cool one.
I am Sam Hannaway, and I share this blog with the dogs in my life. Being creative soothes my soul, so I write when I have something to say, paint when words don't cut it and try to follow the dogs' advice with grace. They say to keep it simple.

Wow! What a perfect July moon view! I love how differently the moon cooly lights up the landscape and leaves the shadows with their mysteries.
I love it. There is an abstract painting here. I wonder how this would look in pastel...
You are a clever wordsmith too.
The moon is a womb
And a moldy sigh
Soured in wine
And three days high.

The moon is surrounded by showers of fairy dust. Perfect!
