cold moon

When I left the studio last night, the full moon was rising. The frigid ten degrees and still air hung my breath in a solid cloud before me. It has to be the Cold Moon, I thought. I grabbed my camera and began shooting. The exposures seemed longer than life itself, and I fought to catch the moments between breaths, shivers, and heartbeats. It became a true out-of-body experience. I passed those little eternities wondering why I was there without a coat, yet warm nonetheless. I knew there had to be a reason beyond the moon's obvious beauty.
Happy birthday, Loriann!

Thanks so much Sam...what a wonderful b'day card!!!!! If you don't mind I may use the image to inspire another full moon painting. Wasn't it truly awesome?

Nice comment, Patrice. I like the short version of the Navaho prayer, "Beauty before us, beauty behind us."

"I've seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look

of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically

dogs think humans are nuts."

- John Steinbeck

who is dog?

Well, when you cross an insomniac, an agnostic, and a dyslexic, you get someone who stays up all night wondering if there is a Dog.
-Groucho

who is Sam?

She's an artistic agnostic insomniac who thinks there probably is a Dog.

It's my story and I'm sticking to it. Today.
