dogspicious

At 9 o'clock this morning, a teenage coyote
(she looked exactly like the one I painted last week),
 trotted through our neighborhood.

At 2 o'clock in the afternoon,
two stray dogs dragged up our driveway.
They hung out in the backyard,
ate snacks and played with Garrett,
while I tried to locate their owner.
Happily, he got my messages and came to get
Boomer and Miles
before animal control got here.

It was a good day.

I wonder who is more jealous of whom: The coyote at the dogs easy life style, or the dogs wishing for the coyote's free living life?

You had quite a day with your four-legged friends. Is the coyote an unusual visitor to your neighborhood?

Happy ending for the strays! Coyotes in our neighborhood get more bold as we develop more and more of the raw land.

Celeste--
Having a dog "at large" is the worst! It took the better part of the day to find the owner (with the help of 2 local humane societies), but it's something I gladly do for the dogs. The owners get a little sympathy and a lecture.

Kevin--
I also wondered about the same. By the end of the day, it was clear that neither could survive the other's life.

Hallie--
To me, a day like yesterday is one full of messages. I'm reminded to keep my eyes open. I never miss a dog but rarely see a coyote.

Katherine--
The dogs are free-loaders, and the coyote is a struggling survivor. I love em all.

Wow. I wonder if that's the coyote that ate my neighbor's yappy dog.

This is smartly done and well-painting in my opinion.
